Increase Your Luck: Visualize Your Progress

A famous manager named Peter Drucker once said that “You can’t manage what you can’t measure.” It’s true about business, but it’s also true about life. Another way to think of this quote is that what you track grows or what you want to grow, you need to track. One way to track your progress is to visualize it.

Check Your Numbers

Whether it’s weight loss, writing a book, or getting more website visitors, there are numbers you can measure in the matter. When you have a number goal, you can measure. Always take the time to check your numbers on a regular schedule so that you can see your improvement.

Write It Down

Keeping a journal is a great way to visualize your progress too. You can look back at other days in your journal and compare what you said today with what you said a week ago to gauge your success and progress. Keep all the juicy details in it.

Document Your Efforts

Whether you’re creating a new membership website, building a new relationship, or trying to eat healthier, you can document your efforts, which will help you visualize your progress. Take photos and track website hits, note how your relationship has improved based on your goals, and it’ll be a lot easier to see your success.

Create Vision Boards

When you have a goal, create a vision board, and then take it apart. When you have achieved a particular thing from the original vision board, add it back to the board so you can see that it happened in detail.

Self Hypnosis

Instead of clearing your mind during meditation, use self-hypnosis to focus on the success you’re achieving as you work toward your goals. Close your eyes and see the success you’ve created based on where you started.

Create a Visual Representation Such as a Ruler or Thermometer

Trying to raise money, lose weight, earn a certain amount of money, put a particular amount in savings, or whatever you can visualize it by creating a visual reminder that shows you briefly what you’ve accomplished.

Reward yourself for benchmarks reached within your larger goals. For example, you can agree that if you manage to lose 40 pounds by your deadline set, you’ll pay yourself $400 to buy a new outfit or two. This new outfit now represents success and is so much more than something to wear.
