These Bad Habits Are Ruining Your Luck

Find a way to stop doing these bad habits so that you don’t need to be concerned. Most of these habits are done without thinking, like most habits, but you can become more mindful of what you’re doing so you can experience more success.

Blaming Others and Making Excuses

No matter what happens in life, you can only be responsible for your own self and vice versa. Because of this, always look at what you can do to affect change rather than what someone else did. If you are repeatedly late, you may need to start giving yourself more time next time you have to do that again.

Misunderstanding the Power of Small Steps

If you have an all or nothing mentality, it’s hard to understand that the small things you do today can affect things tomorrow. For example, walking 20 to 30 minutes a day starting now for the next ten years will have a positive result that you may not notice until later.

Self-Doubt and Allowing Other People to Define You

What others think about you is not your concern or your business. Although people will be sure to let you in on it even if you don’t ask. Instead of allowing this to derail, you realize it’s simply their thoughts, and it has nothing to do with you or your reality.

Not Listening for Understanding

When you are trying to learn anything, it’s important to take part in the communication process and listen actively for understanding. Ask questions that help you get clear on their meaning and repeat back in your own words what you think they said.

Fearing and Avoiding Failure

The problem with avoiding failure is that it shows your belief system about failure is erroneous. Failure is not the opposite of success. Anyone who ever experiences success has experienced failure on the way to success.

Focusing on Things You Can’t Change

It’s one thing to examine past mistakes to improve yourself, but it’s another to focus on the things in the past that you cannot change. Take a set amount of time to examine any situation focusing on what you can realistically do or not do, and then move on.

Change these bad habits so you can experience more success. The great thing about success is that it builds over time and even gets to a point when it will snowball and seem effortless. It all starts with letting go of bad habits.
